Rolling Sets

Industry

Festival

A debut festival needed a digital presence as bold, retro and alive as the event itself — built fast, built to move, and built to sell tickets.

Context

Rolling Sets Festival is an all-ages event in Coffs Harbour, presented by Kingdom Sounds, Afends, Whatslively and +Focus. The 2020 debut required a digital identity matching its retro, expressive and full of energy aesthetic.

The brief demanded a fully functional website serving multiple audiences: festival attendees seeking lineup and ticketing info, and professional organisations needing event credentials and logistics. Site requirements included Oztix ticketing integration, performance tracking, and audience communication capabilities.

The primary challenge: building everything from scratch with strong visual foundation and flexible architecture for diverse user needs.

The Shift

This project transcended standard web development — it established digital identity for a brand-new event.

Rolling Sets possessed strong illustrative assets and clear visual personality but needed a platform bringing those elements to life through motion, supporting multi-page content for different audiences, driving ticket sales, and making a strong launch impression. The stakes were high: a debut event has one chance to set the tone and build momentum.

The Work

Full website design and build delivered ahead of the festival's debut.

Animation and motion applied to static illustrative assets, bringing the brand to life digitally.

Custom-coded lineup scroll feature with dynamic colour, art and artist photography.

UX and content architecture designed for dual audiences: festival patrons and professional bodies.

Oztix ticketing integration for seamless ticket sales direct from the site.

Scalable, analytics-ready backend giving the client full visibility and control.

Impact

A Debut That Made a Splash

Rolling Sets launched with a digital presence that matched its ambition: bold, retro and impossible to ignore. The site gave the festival immediate credibility and energy at launch.

Brought a Brand to Life in Motion

By animating the existing illustrative assets, we extended the visual identity beyond static design and into an interactive, living digital experience.

A Platform Built to Convert

With ticketing integration, multi-audience content and a manageable backend, the site did its job: driving sales and keeping the Rolling Sets team informed and in control.

A Creative Technical Achievement

The custom lineup scroll feature proved what's possible when code and creativity are treated as equals. A standout moment that set Rolling Sets apart from day one.
